More Celebrities Consider Potential Run For Political Office

The idea of famous celebrities getting into politics wasn’t very common until Donald Trump decided to run for President of the United States. Before Trump, Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger were the two most popular names regarding celebrities winning political office.

Famous rap artist Kanye West has also been throwing his name out there for an attempt at running for U.S. President. Kanye even made an attempt to run in the 2020 Presidential Election, where he got a few thousand votes in certain states, the most being in the state of Tennessee.

Now, we’re seeing a few more popular names being brought up regarding running for political office. One of the most recent mentions was Matthew McConaughey when talking to radio host Hugh Hewitt. Matthew was asked if he would consider running for Governor of Texas sometime in the future. His response: “I mean, that wouldn’t be up to me. It would be up to the people more than it would me.”

He followed up by stating, “Look, politics seems to be a broken business to me right now. And when politics redefines its purpose, I could be a hell of a lot more interested.”

Another more recent name mentioned as a potential U.S. Senate run was the President’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump. Famous by association to the Trump family, Lara served as a producer for the TV news magazine Inside Edition from 2012 to 2016. She also served on the 2016 Trump campaign and was the spearhead Trump–Pence Women’s Empowerment Tour. She then served on the Trump 2020 campaign as a senior consultant.

At least three Trump family allies have been telling associates that Lara Trump has been considering a senate run in her home state of North Carolina. We are expecting more details to come from this matter soon, especially nearing the end of 2021.
